Fun with Gramps and Grandma

Ryan and I took a road trip to Sheridan, Wyoming for Greg and Stacy's wedding, so Ryan's mom and Dick came to stay with Ford. Here's some pics from their trip to the aquarium...

Bu Ca Da... and more Ford-isms

The past few days have been quite entertaining as our little monkey is learning to talk! I have to say it's SO funny to hear Ford try and say words, the poor guy just can't get the whole thing out. Here's a list of what he says and how he says it. HOT and BUS will go in the babybook as his first official words.

Ha=Hot
Bu=Bus
Da=Dog
Ca=Cat
Shi=Fish
Ra=Ry (he doesn't call him Dada, he trys to call him Ry!)
Ra=Romey
Ra=Rock
Uck=Truck

I know these might not seem like any big deal, but going 19 months with no verbal communication was torture on us! We are stilll dying to hear what his cute little voice sounds like when he really starts talking. For now, I guess we'll just have to stick with these:)

A Match Made in Heaven

Two of my dear friends were married in Uppsala, Sweden on Midsommars Day. And, it just so happens that I set them up!

Fredrik (a Swede) and I met during college. He lived across the street from me, and one of his roommates was a great childhood friend (RIP Nate). Fred was a year older, and after he graduated he left for Europe to play professional basketball there. We kept in touch over the years, mainly via email. He was always asking me to set him up with "a nice Amercian girl"...

Jessie and I met when I went to work for NMR in San Clemente. We instantly hit it off and became fast friends. I was sad to leave her when we moved to Colorado, but we stayed in touch over the years....

One day it just hit me...FRED AND JESSIE!!! So, I gave Fred Jessie's MySpace link and the rest is history. They've been together ever since and I couldn't be happier for them.

Here are some pics of their AMAZING wedding... I only wish I could have been there to celebrate with my two very special friends! Congrats you guys, and many, many blessings for the future!

My how time flies!

Ford had his 18 month check up last week and it was quite eventful, to say the least. I know I've told you all about Dr. Roy in the past, but I have to brag on him some more. Ford just adores him! He loves him so much that he crawled up in to his lap and cuddled with the doc...twice! Dr. Roy was quite happy to have Ford sit with him, too. But, as soon as Ford wanted Dr. Roy's laptop it was ALL over! Ford threw himself on the floor, prayed to Allah for a minute, then he was fine. I was horrified but the doctor kindly said, "that's nothing, my Leo (his son) will go on and on for 20 minutes!" Well, those of you that know Ford, know the kid isn't capable of doing the same thing for 20 minutes, but it was comforting nonetheless. I guess Ford's tantrums are quite common and the doc gave us some great advice on how to handle them in the future.

Ford is 23 pounds and 3 ounces (2oth percentile), 33.5 inches tall (84%) and his poor peanut head is in the 13%ile! We have a long and lean boy on our hands! Most importantly, though, Ford is a healthy lil man and we just adore every day with him.
