Ryan...aka best daddy and husband in the world

Today's post is an ode to Ryan. I just have to share with everyone how amazing he is. I'm going to be real honest, these past 9 weeks have been a living nightmare. I have been so sick with this pregnancy and I know the whole family is ready for mom to be "normal" again. We've all been dealing with my nausea, fatigue, nausea, depression, lack of motivation, nausea (did I say that already?) and it's starting to take it's toll. But, through all of this, Ryan has been our rock. Not only does he wake up with Ford EVERY morning and let me sleep in, he goes to work all day long, comes home, plays with Ford, gives him a bath and puts him to bed. The majority of the time he evens cooks dinner AND does the dishes! I am just floored at the amazing man God gave to me. Seriously, I look back on all the times I imagined (and prayed for) my future husband, and never in my wildest dreams did I think He would deliver someone so incredible. So, Ryan, if you ever read this, THANK YOU for all you do for me and our family. You are a blessing from the Lord! We love, love, love you!!!

Farmer Ford

Some of you have been asking about the picture of Ford on our blog's homepage. My mom took these over Spring Break. My whole family made fun of me for buying Ford that tweeter shirt, but it really is what has made these pictures so good. So, here's some more of Ford in his farmer outfit!

Ford's 15mo Wellness Visit

So, my friend Molly inspired to blog about Ford's 15 month check up. I enjoyed reading about her daughter's (Lilly) milestones, so I thought I would share, too.

First off, a bit about our pediatrician, Dr. Roy. He's an MD, but he practices functional medicine, which is very important to our family. Basically, it's a holistic view of medicine. Dr. Roy visits with the whole family (mainly sits there and talk with Ryan about words I don't understand!) and he genuinely wants the whole family to be happy together. Overall, we all LOVE Dr. Roy and he puts with my helicopter moments:) His practice isn't typical, it's only him and nurse Melissa. They don't book patients on top of one another so we don't sit in a waiting room with other kiddos. We love that the whole practice is focused on us while we are there!

Our little guy weighed in at a whopping 20.8 lbs. He is 32.5 inches tall and his head is 18.5 inches. He hasn't gained a whole lot of weight, but he has gotten quite a bit taller. Dr. Roy was impressed with our little man and he even got to witness one of Ford's tantrums.

Ford isn't quite talking. We know for sure that his favorite thing to say is "wassat" for "what's that". He points at everything and says "wassat?" Sometimes he says "ba" for ball and da for "dog" but other than that it is really just jibberish! I can't wait to hear his little voice though!

He is obsessed with dog and he LOVES to tell them no. This is done by pointing one finger in the air and saying "uhh uhh uhhh" over and over again. When our babysitter takes him on walks, she says he rides with his hand in the air, finger pointed the whole time. He's the loud dog police!

Overall, we love our little bundle of joy. I could really do without the tantrums, though! :)

Big Brother Ford

Well, it's official! Ford is going to be a big brother. Baby Frace is due October 30, 2009. Ryan and I had been trying since last summer, but I didn't know that it was difficult to get pregnant while nursing. I stopped nursing Ford in January and BAM, it just happened. I'd been feeling really nauseous and tired. We just thought I had a bit of a bug. Ryan went out of town and my mom was here with me. We'd run some errands and I was exhausted. Finally, it hit me! So, I went to the store and bought and test and it was positive. Sorry for all the description, but I've never had a positive urine test before, so I was REALLY excited. That was on February 26. I told my mom and Ryan and they were both pumped! Of course, big brother Ford has NO CLUE what's going on. This will be interesting, to say the least...

Grandma Linda comes to town...

Ryan's mom, Linda, came in to town to relieve us of some parental duties. It was Ryan's birthday gift, and a great gift at that! She was supposed to arrive on Thursday, but because of the darn blizzard she wasn't able to get here until Saturday. We had a great visit with her. We went to the zoo, to the mall, and we were just able to get in some quality time with Grandma Linda. Thanks Linda! We loved having you here and can't wait for your next trip!
